Esophagus - histology slide

This is a histology slide of the esophagus.The esophagus is lined by nonkeratinized stratified squamous epithelium. The muscularis mucosae lies between the lamina proprid and submucosa. The muscularis externa, consisting of smooth muscle, is exterior to these structures.
