Hair, horse

This is a horse hair.

· Diameter: very coarse
· Medulla: absent to unbroken; cellular or amorphous (mosaic pattern)
· Scales: imbricate; without protrusions from hair shaft
· Characteristic color; pigment fine, evenly distributed; few ovoid structures
· Root: area adjacent to root tapers to bulb-shaped root
