A photomicrograph detecting the presence of hemosiderin, stained blue, within diffuse bone marrow. Hemosiderin, revealed here using PAS stain and H&E counterstain, is a normal by-product produced during the breakdown of red blood cells, and the decomposition of the hemoglobin molecule contained in these blood components.
