Neuron - confocal image

Retention of Nissl bodies and lipfuscin by extracted motor neurons. Confocal image of an extracted motor neuron cell body isolated from human lumbar spinal cord and stained with methylene blue. The pink structures (small arrows) are Nissl bodies and the blue and yellow structures are lipofuscin granules (large arrow). Bar = 25 µm.
