Pituitary gland - histology slide
|
This is a histology slide of the pituitary gland. The pars anterior consists of cords and clusters of epithelial cells. In many the cytoplasm stains a bright pink (eosinophils) or bluish. These are the chromophils. Others have a palely stained cytoplasm (chromophobes). The pars anterior is highly vascular.
