Pancreas

Light microscope histology image of a 0.5 micron section cut through the acinar portion of mammalian pancreatic tissue. The acinar cells are typical protein-secreting cells. The inactive precursors of digestive enzymes are stored in the zymogen granules. These are easy to see as numerous, dark, round structures in each acinar cell. There is a capillary located at the bottom of this image. ZEISS Standard RA LM
